Annual Reception

The Annual Reception again provided members and their partners with a convivial atmosphere for making or renewing contact with others who share their interests, while enjoying drinks and a tasty selection of finger food.

Prior to the Reception, Michael Shirrefs delivered a presentation entitled "Paris to Melbourne with an Atlas", in which he told of his unearthing a vast collection of 19th-century French books in the collection of the State Library of Victoria.  This discovery then took him to Paris, where he in turn discovered a large missing archive about Melbourne in the 1880s.
 

Annual General Meeting

At the Annual General Meeting the Honorary President, Peter Tolé, delivered his Annual Report for 2010.  In the absence of the Honorary Treasurer, Peter also presented the Statements of Account for 2010.

Voting then followed for membership of the Committee of Management, with the following being elected.

•   Honorary President – Peter Tolé
•   Honorary Vice-President – Bryony Nayagam
•   Honorary Secretary – Philippe Lesage
•   Honorary Treasurer – Nick Garnham
•   Public Officer – Bernard Shepherd
•   Committee Members – John Acton and François Malherbe.
